Anti aging supplements have taken the supplement industry by storm. Thousands of people are spending millions of dollars on creams and salves promising wrinkle reduction and hair growth, healthy joints and renewed organs.
Sadly, none of the claims are verified, but we can be certain that billions of dollars are being spent on research into the proverbial ‘fountain of youth’ that all of the oldest members of our society are believed to be wishing for.
Recently, anti aging supplements have changed to accomodate new research into the science of aging. The NRF-2 genetic transcript in our DNA has been discovered to be responsible for producing the body’s most powerful known antioxidants.
Antioxidants aid our bodies by removing free radicals from our bloodstream. Free radicals are known to cause oxidative stress, which is currently regarded as the prime chemical factor in aging.
Of course, there are no anti aging supplements that will reverse the aging process….yet. I have a strong feeling that people are working tirelessly to develop such technology, and it’s only a matter of time before they succeed.
