Menstruation is one of those things that no one feels comfortable talking about, not even women. Menstruation is even more taboo than talking about your sex life which is ironic because just like sex menstruation is just a normal bodily functions that happen to every woman and you simply can’t stop it. 

But, what if I told you that you can apply these tips of how to turn your period painless? As if menstruation is not bad enough with the stomach, the horrible mood swings, there are just so many things that you have to deal and so many things to decide when you are on your period. 

But of all things maintaining your body hygiene during period must be your priority, which is why today I'm going to share some hygiene tips on how to turn your period painless. 

1. Properly Store Your Sanitary Pads

This is a basic advice, but an important one nonetheless. Every woman, of course, uses sanitary pads, but not many women realize just how important it is to store your sanitary pads in a proper manner. 

The cotton padding on your sanitary pads attract bacteria, and if you strew around your sanitary pads, it is going to cause you itching and allergies. And not too mention that you private areas are very very sensitive so you simply cannot mess around when it comes to storing your sanitary pads.

2. Keep An Extra Set Of Underwear When You Are On Your Period

This is a very important thing to do when you are on your period, always bring an extra pair of underwear, because let’s face it if you are a woman, you are going to soil your underwear someday. That or you already have. 

This is why it is important to bring extra underwear because menstrual blood is not hygienic and it can be harmful to your health. 

So when your underwear is soiled just change right away and make sure you wash that underwear separately. I know that there’s no direct outcome just like the other ways of how to turn your period painless, but at least you’ll be more comfortable during your daily activities. 

3. Wash Up Your body

When you are on your period, you obviously will suffer from a lot of pains and stress which will result in you sweating a lot and sweating in the private area may cause bacterial infection. 

This is why, it is important that you properly wash your body and change your clothes when you are sweating, better be safe than sorry right.

4. Some External Care You Can Do

While it is true that our vagina is equipped with a capable self-cleaning mechanism, so you don’t need to wash it with soap, but that does not mean there is nothing you can do. You can, for example, clean up your vagina using warm water which will help in killing the bacteria. 

Don’t forget to wash properly your hand and dispose of your used sanitary pads wrapped up with something like plastic bags or old newspapers. And of course, never flush down your sanitary pad down the toilet, because first it’s gross and second it clogs the toilet.
